See How They Run is set in 1950s London. A gruesome murder has taken place in the West End, which is dotted with world-famous theater buildings. The victim is American film producer Leo Kopernick (Adrien Brody), who wanted to adapt an acclaimed play by playwright Mervyn Cocker-Norris (David Oyelowo) for Hollywood.
The disillusioned Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and the somewhat overzealous novice police officer Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) take over the investigation. They soon discover that not only Cocker-Norris, who was arguing publicly with Köpernick, but also a large number of other people had a motive for wishing the man dead.
Against this background, the interrogations of the suspects naturally take some time. However, when a second body is found a little later, for which the same perpetrator clearly seems to be responsible, the unlikely duo must hurry with their investigations before more deaths occur.
“See How They Run” will be released in German cinemas nationwide on October 27, 2022.
“See How They Run” is the first feature film production by Tom George, who has previously only appeared as a director of TV series such as “This Country” or “Defending The Guilty” and short films. The screenplay was written by Mark Chappell, who also works primarily for television (“Flaked”, “A Young Doctor’s Notebook And Other Stories”).
In front of the camera, on the other hand, the well-known and experienced stars of the silver screen are thronging. The two investigators are played by Oscar winner Sam Rockwell (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”) and Saoirse Ronan (“Lady Bird”, “Little Women”), who has already been nominated four times. The victim of the crime comedy is played by Adrien Brody, who received the coveted statue for his brilliant performance in the title role of The Pianist.
Also present: Harris Dickinson from “The King’s Man: The Beginning”, who will soon be coming to our cinemas with “The Song of the Crayfish”, Ruth Wilson (“His Dark Materials”), David Oyelowo (“Selma”), Shirley Henderson from the “Harry Potter’ series and Sian Clifford (‘Fleabag’).
