With “John Wick: Chapter 2” the film world got bigger, John Wick’s adversaries became more memorable and the fights bolder, tougher and more draining. Also, the look has undergone an evolution: the locations are bathed in darker shadows, but the splashes of color are more contrasting and intense than before. “John Wick: Chapter 3” consistently continues this change.
John Wick plowed through hordes of anonymous henchmen on his epoch-making mission that blends revenge, pure anger, and relentless self-defense. But at high rates he also encounters more stubborn opponents with character and their own fighting style, the John Wick has to counter. In addition, there is a great variety of locations and the will to stage the style, which is even more increased than in part two. This creates a veritable frenzy of violence that, despite all the shooting and detours, remains varied. Thus, “John Wick: Chapter 3” (tentative) at DashFUN deserves the crown within this film series.
