Sonic 2: Knuckles & Tails Are In The First Trailer Has Arrived

The Sonic hedgehog returns to our screens in 2022

The first movie Sonic, directed by Jeff Fowler, was a stunning box office success. Despite the pandemic which severely hampered his career in theaters, he managed to collect $ 319 million. We imagine that this score could have been even higher if theaters had not been obliged to close their doors. Anyway, the result seemed sufficient for a sequel to be started, with the inevitable objective of doing better on an accounting level. It’s the April 6, 2022 that this new opus soberly titled Sonic 2 has been programmed. Because we don’t change a winning team, the director has been recalled, while Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey and James Marsden will all continue to play Sonic, Dr Robotnik and Tom respectively.

Knucles arrives in the first trailer

The reveal of a first trailer took place during the Game Awards night. A rather generous preview which climbs to more than two minutes. First, we discover Sonic who has become a vigilante. He hunts down bad guys using his powers, sometimes with a bit of awkwardness. But the hedgehog will have to work on a much more serious matter, with the return to Earth of Dr Robotnik, famous opponent of the franchise. The latter has again constituted a diabolical plan and this time he is accompanied of a popular figure in games: Knuckles. Idris Elba has agreed to lend him his voice and we discover it in this trailer. The last seconds are devoted to him, teasing a confrontation that may not be obvious to the hero.

Knuckles will be the big attraction of this sequel, however, we must not forget that another important figure in the universe will also be there. Sonic will be able to count on Tails, which was featured very briefly in the first film. She will have a much more important place in the script, as evidenced by her presence in the trailer or on the poster below:
