The ball of graphics card manufacturers is about to have a new competitor with the arrival in the race of the giant Intel. From which we learn some information via a “leak”.
In reality it is not really a leak but the words of an influencer that were reported by wccftech. The character in question bears the name of Moore’s Law Is Dead. According to him, the entry-level model from Intel would be equipped with 6 GB of video memory, more specifically GDDR6. According to him, it could even be two models, a bit like what is already done with Nvidia / AMD. Namely a 6 GB / 64-bit version for laptops and a 6 GB / 96-bit desktop version.
A very affordable entry level?
This entry-level card from Intel would aim to come directly compete with the GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER from the greens, with the possibility of ray tracing. The price would be particularly attractive with a sum of $ 200 according to wccftech and even $ 180 for YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead.
Intel wants to break everything
That kind of pricing, while knowing the current shortage issues in the GPU world could be a masterstroke. Indeed, what better way to make yourself known (even if Intel has nothing more to prove) than to cut market prices by being very accessible. Of course, it remains to be seen if stocks can keep up, which is no small feat these days.
But beware, ARC Alchemist are not just entry-level graphics cards, since Intel is also planning more powerful models to compete directly with the high-end from AMD and Nvidia.
In September, for example, we learned of the existence of a card with the performance of an RTX 3070 for less than $ 500. For the moment, Intel has not specified anything about the existence of even more efficient cards to siphon off sales of the RTX 3080 SUPER. No doubt that will eventually happen.
