The horror film “Smile” arrives in September in France. Paramount Pictures unveils the trailer for the feature film and the first image of the heroine.
If someone smiles at you, it’s a bad sign.
To fully discover the first horror film directed and written by Parker Finn, you have to wait another three long months. In order to keep us patiently patient, the Paramount Pictures shares an agonizing trailer of Smile. And we see it in this trailer, this horror drama with scary smiles has all the prerequisites of a chilling feature film. Thus, a twisted plot, crazy characters and an anxiety-provoking atmosphere are revealed.
Here is the synopsis: After witnessing a traumatic incident involving one of her patients, the life of psychiatrist Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) turns into a nightmare. Overwhelmed by a mysterious force, Rose will have to confront her past in an attempt to survive…
These first extracts show an invisible threat, someone or something that smiles at its victims. These seem to mimic their attacker. The case seems inexplicable, but must absolutely be solved so that the murders stop.
Coming soon to the cinema
The protagonist is played by American actress Sosie Bacon. Accustomed to television series, we can see her in the first season of As We See Itthe mini-series Mare of Eastown with Kate Winslet, or during the first season of the series 13 Reasons Why. In Smile, she plays alongside Caitlin Stasey, Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner and Robin Weigert. Kal Penn, as well as Rob Morgan, are also part of the cast.
Along with the trailer, Paramount Pictures shares a photo of the actress (above). Petrified in her study, she finds herself faced with the brutal murder of one of her patients. But who is behind this crime? The first images sow doubt. We are talking about a file of 19 victims where each victim is linked to each other.
Smile releases September 28, 2022 in French cinemas.
