After Will Smith, it’s Jada Pinkett Smith’s turn to speak after the slap in the face against Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. On Instagram, the actress let it be known in a short but sufficiently evocative message that she wants to put an end to the tension…
Will Smith’s slap in the face of Chris Rock
The winners of the 94th Academy Awards are probably not what the public will retain the most of the evening. Coming to present the trophy for Best Documentary, Chris Rock launched into a speech during which he joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia. A remark that made Will Smith lose his calm. After getting up, the comedian of The Williams Method walked straight up to the comedian, walked up to the Dolby Theater stage, punched him in the face, and went back to his seat.
A slap condemned by many personalities in Hollywood, which is talked about all over the world and for which the star could lose his Best Actor Oscar, awarded for his portrayal of Richard Williams. While Chris Rock did not wish to file a complaint, an investigation was opened.
Jada Pinkett Smith seeks appeasement
After expressing his regret during his acceptance speech, Will Smith shared a message on Instagram this Monday, March 28. The comedian publicly apologized to the comedian, also confiding in his “emotional” and “inexcusable” reaction :
Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior last night at the Oscars was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted on the spot with emotion.
I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I overstepped the bounds and I was wrong. I’m embarrassed and my actions haven’t reflected the man I want to be.

Like her companion, Jada Pinkett Smith shared a message of appeasement on Instagram. The actress of Matrix Resurrections posted a post with the following message:
The time for appeasement has come and I embrace it.
