Hollywood and the world of cinema talk only about the slap given by Will Smith to Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars ceremony. While Will Smith has since publicly apologized, and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith has also expressed, it was finally Chris Rock who came out of the silence, during a performance of his stand-up in Boston.
The affair of the slap on all the lips
The images have been looping on the networks since this evening of March 27, 2022, during which Will Smith slapped Chris Rock hard on the Dolby Theater stage in Hollywood, where the 94th Academy Awards took place. At the origin of the dramatic event, a joke by Chris Rock on the bald head of Jada Pinkett Smith, suffering from alopecia. A joke in dubious taste that made her husband Will Smith come out of his hinges, who therefore got up and punched Chris Rock in front of a stunned audience and millions of viewers.
The protagonists spoke, Will Smith first, then Jada Pinket Smith, and several celebrities such as Jim Carrey and Zoë Kravitz openly criticized the actor of bad boys rewarded the same evening with the Oscar for best actor for his performance in The Williams Method. Thus, only Chris Rock had so far remained silent. This is no longer the case, since, during a performance of his show in Boston, this one gave a first feeling of the slap received.

Chris Rock: “I’m still thinking about it”
Beyond the personal issues between Will Smith and Chris Rock, their respective careers will always be marked by this event it is therefore customary to walk on eggshells so that everyone can come out of it with the least degraded reputation possible.
With this in mind, Chris Rock spoke in front of his audience, in fact pushing back an official statement, perhaps in the media, alone or with Will Smith, to another date. And his first words on the case were given in good humor and with humor.
How was your weekend ? I don’t have much to say about what happened, so if you came for that, know that I have a show written way before this weekend. I’m still thinking about what happened. The time will come when I will talk about this mess. And it will be both funny and serious. I’m going to make some jokes now. It’s great just to be there.
Difficult to avoid the subject in front of an audience that came in droves, as Variety reports, and when this audience is fully committed to the cause of Chris Rock we even hear “Fuck Will Smith!”. After his few words, which translate that at least the comedian is fine and has started to put some distance, we are waiting for the sequel, which he, therefore, promised to be both “serious and funny”.
