Sissi : What is it about ?
The plot of the series Sissi revolves as its name suggests around a young woman, but not just any! Her real name Elisabeth, the protagonist of the show straight from Austria is none other than a 19th century Empress. We can also define the sovereign as an influencer from a past time. Her intelligence, her legendary beauty as well as her assertive character have made her a true symbol of royalty. The series therefore narrates the adventures of the young woman and his growing popularity with his court, then in neighboring countries!
If usually it is the trilogy worn by the iconic Romy Schneider that we find at the approach of the holidays, this year, things are changing. But then, what are the differences between the two works ? First of all, it seems that the series is closer than its predecessors to the true story of the sovereign. Also, adapting the life of the young woman in such a format suggests that the authors will be able to dissect the existence of their main character in depth !
Dominique Devenport, the interpreter of Sissi, told our colleagues to Variety his joy to embody such a historical figure on the screen. The young actress is also poured out on her character and her modernity before the hour.
His only responsibility was to have children and to serve. Her human side and her emotions didn’t matter, but she found a way to have some privacy.
So it seems that this new biopic on the Empress lets see it in a new light and at the heart of conflicts that may echo our modern society!

In the main role of the series, we therefore find the actress Dominique Devenport. You may have met this Swiss actress in the TV movie Head in the clouds.
Facing her, Jannik Schümann (Monster hunter, Enemy hearts) embodies her husband, Emperor François Joseph. Desiree Nosbusch (Bad banks), Tanja Schleiff (Charity), Julia Stemberger (M the damn) or Pauline Rénevier (The Wonderful Journey of Nils Holgersson in the Land of the Wild Geese) are in the cast of this new historic series!
Where and when to watch the program?
TF1 will broadcast the first three episodes from the first season of Sissi December 23 at 9:05 p.m.. The six episodes of the German-Austrian program are already available on the Salto platform !
