Simone Veil, an extraordinary life
Icon of the women’s cause and the fight against discrimination against women in France, Simone Veil enters French history thanks to her permanent fights against barbarism. With the movie Simone, the trip of the centuryfilmmaker Olivier Dahan offers a portrait of a committed womanto whom we owe the law decriminalizing abortion (voluntary interruption of pregnancy) in France. At a time when the Supreme Court of the United States has revoked the federal right to abortion, the trailer for this feature film comes at the right time.
But this biopic is dedicated to the whole life of Simone Veil. From his childhood, to the tragedies of the concentration camps, to his political battles, everything will be dissected. The film will attempt to show the great journey of this strong woman. As a reminder, Olivier Dahan has already embarked on biopics of this magnitude. We count in the director’s filmography the Oscar winner The kid (biopic on Edith Piaf) with Marion Cotillard, or her story on Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman.
