Silent Hill: new games announced in a few hours

That’s it ! Konami will finally communicate on the return of the cult Silent Hill saga with a big showcase in which several games would be announced. All info.

It was via a very late tweet, for us, that Konami gave us an appointment to learn more about the future of Silent Hill. Because yes, the franchise will be reborn after years in the closet.

Silent Hill makes a comeback after 10 years of absence

And yes, it has already been 10 years since the release of Silent Hill: Downpour. We could have had a potentially ultra creepy episode by Hideo Kojima, but that project was scrapped when the Japanese creator was ousted.

But in (almost) secret, Konami was preparing the return of the cult series and is ready to talk about it. The publisher will reveal all of its ambitions from this Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 p.m. (French time). Their message has not gone unnoticed by fans since we can read “In your restless dreams, do you see that town? »a reference to the second opus.

Barring a bad joke, we should have Silent Hill 2 Remake formalized by Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, Observer…). And that’s all ? No, presumably there is a lot more. Rumors point to a new PS5 game or even a very special title by the publisher of 12 Minutes, Outer Wilds … We will see what is confirmed or not in a few hours.

Another little information, one of the pillars of the franchise, the artistic director Masahiro Itō, retweeted the publication of Konami. He seems well involved in at least one of the games.

Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) knows something…

On his Twitter account, actor Elijah Wood, known for his role as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings, also retweeted Konami’s message with an emoji. The one we use when we seem to be on the scent of something. Could he double a character? Why not… but there is better.

Elijah Wood has his own production company, SpectreVision, which developed the VR game Transference for Ubisoft. During the Silent Hill brand renewal, Konami listed virtual reality support. Another partnership to reinvigorate the license in another way? See you this Wednesday!
