To everyone’s surprise (not at all), the remake of Silent Hill 2 is announced. Development studio, people involved, PS5/PC release and gameplay, here’s all the info.
“Pretend to be shocked” as the meme wants, but the remake of Silent Hill 2 has finally been made official by Konami. The novelty compared to leaks and rumours? A great gameplay video.
Silent Hill 2 back on PS5 and PC
The partnership between Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Observer, The Medium…) and Konami has finally materialized. It was indeed a big overhaul project with a remake of Silent Hill 2. 20 years later, the game is necessarily more resplendent than ever, enough to put even more uncomfortable. On the other hand, the character design of the character leaves something to be desired and in particular its animations.
As with Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 before them, Bloober Team is ditching fixed camera angles for a fairly tight shoulder view and more dynamic first-look shots to further immerse players depending on teams.
This next-gen version is designed by a Western studio but with support from Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka. These are two veterans of the franchise, respectively the artistic director and the composer of the superb music of the franchise who will be reinvented for this version.
Silent Hill 2 is PS5 exclusive for one year. After which, the title will be released on PC.
