Actually, the drama should take place in the “Bridgerton” world on the screen. But now there are also difficulties behind the scenes with the Netflix series – namely with the spin-off about the young Queen Charlotte.
After two successful seasons of “Bridgerton”, Netflix is currently working on the first spin-off to the romantic series hit: It will be about the young Queen Charlotte, who quickly became a fan favorite with her smug manner in the main series. Production designer Dave Arrowsmith was supposed to ensure that the spin-off also has such a convincing look and detailed equipment as “Bridgerton” – but he has now been fired.
According to the tabloid, the reason for the firing of production design chief Dave Arrowsmith The Sun whose misconduct may have been on the set. This is what bullying is called. Netflix has also confirmed to major industry magazines such as deadline and Varietythat Arrowsmith left the project – but gave no reasons for the decision.
The Sun claims to have learned from his sources that David Arrowsmith “crossed a line” when working with his colleagues. There was bullying on the set, whereupon those responsible for the series are said to have even set up an anonymous hotline to receive observations and complaints.
Important post needs to be filled
While these allegations have yet to be confirmed, the Queen Charlotte spin-off is now without a production designer. A replacement to be responsible for the aesthetics of the offshoot of the series should now be sought in the near future (or has perhaps already been found in the background) since the project is already in the works.
Only recently were there important details about the cast of the new Netflix series. While the British Queen Charlotte is played in “Bridgerton” by Golda Rosheuvel, who will incidentally also appear in some scenes in the spin-off, India Amarteifio (“Line Of Duty”) takes on the leading role of the queen when she is younger.
“Game Of Thrones” star in the spin-off
In addition to the young queen, the spin-off also focuses on the younger version of Lady Danbury (Adjoa Ando) – then played by Arsema Thomas. And we will also get to know a younger Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), but the new actress is not yet known.
By the way, a “Game Of Thrones” star will also be involved in the Queen Charlotte offshoot: Michelle Fairley, who plays Catelyn Stark, will play Princess Augusta. The Bridgerton spin-off is expected to come to Netflix in 2023. It is not yet known when “Bridgerton” season 3 can be expected – but we already have a preview for you of what season 3 and season 4, which have already been ordered, could be about:
