Which films to watch in the cinema the week of January 12, 2022? “Scream”, “Ouistreham”, “Adieu Monsieur Haffmann” … Here are the outings not to be missed.

What to see at the cinema the week of January 12, 2022? Several releases, especially French films, await cinephiles. The feature film of the week is undoubtedly the fifth episode of “Scream”, between the reboot and the sequel, which sees the return of key characters interact with a new generation of characters. It is also possible to discover this week several films presented during the last Cannes Film Festival. This is the case of “Ousitreham”, in which Juliette Binoche plays an infiltrated writer within a team of cleaning lady.

In the cinema releases of January 12, 2022, let us also note an unprecedented proposal which should seduce film buffs but also music lovers. Charlotte Gainsbourg films her mother, Jane Birkin, in the documentary Jane by Charlotte. It is also possible to dive into the drama of the German occupation with Mr. Haffmann, worn by Daniel Auteuil and Gilles Lellouche. Other releases for the week of January 12, 2022 include Placed, musical comedy Dear Evan Hansen, German lesson, Little Palestine, diary of a siege, Vitalina Varela or Flight. All theaters releases of the week

Scream, the return of Ghostface

The Ghostface killer is back in Woodsboro, 25 years after the brutal murders hit the town. Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox are back in their roles, accompanied by a new generation of actors (Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid …). This fifth installment of the horror film franchise has divided critics, however, with Les Inrocks regretting that the feature film does not even “pretend to want to renew” the license, while Le Figaro finds that “this Scream no longer surprises “.

Ouistreham with Juliette Binoche

Ouistreham is the adaptation of the book The Quai de Ouistreham written by Florence Aubenas in 2010. In this film directed by Emmanuel Carrère, Juliette Binoche plays a writer who decides to pass herself off as a cleaning lady in order to best account for the precariousness of these shadow workers. Ouistreham has relatively won over the critics, since the Allociné aggregator gives it a rating of 3.3 / 5 stars in the press. Among the conquered, Positif hails “an ambiguous film” which tells “the tightness between social circles, the gap between reality and its artistic form, the gap between precariousness and those who do not suffer from it. “For Le Figaro, Juliette Binoche” perfectly embodies a journalist infiltrated “, while Le Parisien hails” a strong film. “The actresses giving the answer to non-professional Juliette Binoche,” are amazing “according to Télé Loisirs.

Farewell Mr. Haffmann, a historical drama in the midst of World War II

Daniel Auteuil, Gilles Lellouche and Sara Giraudeau take the cue in Farewell Mr. Haffmann. The feature film is set in Paris, in 1941, in the midst of the German occupation, and tells the story of the agreement concluded between a jeweler and his employee. The press said they were seduced by the film: “Intense and very moving” for Télé Loisir, “a historical drama with nuance” for Le Figaro, “A shocking tragedy” according to Le Point, “the mayonnaise does not take” for Le Monde .

Jane by Charlotte, Gainsbourg tells Birkin

Charlotte Gainsbourg directs her first feature-length documentary, Jane by Charlotte. And it is her mother, singer Jane Birkin, that she takes as a subject. The opportunity for the actress and singer to better understand her mother, to portray their relationship, and to try to capture the portrait of the English singer. The critics are won over: “a moving tête-à-tête on the unspoken between mother and daughter full of tenderness” (Elle), “the two women succeed in making their shared intimacy a universal patchwork of grace and gentleness “(Le JDD),”what a grace to have grasped this vulnerability on a daily basis, this sweetness of the mother-daughter bond of which this film expresses the testimony of gratitude “(Le Parisien),” we come out with a smile on our lips and misty eyes “(Première).
