2021 marks the 25th anniversary of Wes Craven’s cult film, Scream. But it is in 2022, on January 12, that the masked killer will return to the screens. After the release of the first trailer, theories are rife on this new chapter in the saga. “The victims are linked to the first killers”, Launches actress Melissa Barrera, who plays Sam, the heroine targeted by Ghostface. What other secret does the town of Woodsboro hold? Who can blame Sidney Prescott once again?

To keep fans waiting, Paramount unveiled three new character posters marking the return of the hellish trio: Sidney, Dewey and the unstoppable Gale. Neve Campell, David Arquette and Courteney return to their roles and appear threatening with the killer’s mask in hand.

The three original performers are surrounded by a host of new talents: Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Love, Victor), Kyle Gallner (Jennifer’s Body), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Mikey Madison (Once upon a time in hollywood), Melissa Barrera (Where we come from) and Jenna Ortega, next Wednesday Addams for Tim Burton. Finally, Marley Shelton, already present in Scream 4, will return to her role of Judy Hicks.

The director duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known for Wedding Nightmare, take over the franchise after the death of Wes Craven in 2015. In this new film, simply titled Scream, a new wave of murders will reverse the Town of Woodsboro. A young woman, Sam, enlists the help of Sidney, Gale and Dewey to stop the killer.
