Schwarzenegger cracker on subscription to Amazon Prime Video – the sequel is currently in cinemas! – Cinema News

With an Amazon Prime Video subscription, you can now watch the 90s action thriller “Eraser” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. What many probably missed: In the cinema with “Eraser: Reborn” a rather strange sequel is currently running.

Schwarzenegger - Eraser

When Eraser: Reborn was announced last November, we were quite surprised, to say the least. “erasers” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, which is now included in the Amazon Prime Video subscription and represents the first part, is not even one of the favorites of the fervent supporters of the Steirische Eiche. In addition, the action hit from 1996 didn’t exactly cause a stir at the US box office, although it wasn’t a flop with box office sales of 242.3 million US dollars (budget: 100 million US dollars) ( in Germany, however, the film was very successful).

What is certain, however, is that nobody has asked for a sequel, but this is currently running in German cinemas with “Eraser: Reborn”. You can see from the official DashFUN review that the film, in addition to its strange circumstances, is also pretty bad, which gives the boring B-movie banger with “Shadowhunsters” star Dominic Sherwood a measly 1.5 out of a possible 5 stars. Watch the original instead. While this isn’t groundbreaking, it’s still fun with Arnie, ravenous crocodiles, and crashing railguns.

That’s what “Eraser” is about

John Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a very special US Marshal. His job is to protect people in the United States Witness Protection Program. It often has to ensure that people disappear from the face of the earth as quickly as possible to protect themselves. It doesn’t matter whether they are criminals or conformist citizens. Kruger is used to dangerous situations and leading gunfights.

In the case of Lee Cullen (Vanessa L. Williams), it’s no different. The employee of the arms company Cyrez discovered that this company – supported by the Secretary of State (Andy Romano) and parts of the CIA – illegally sells weapons. No sooner has Kruger Dr. With Cullen taken under his wing, than both are under constant attack, constantly on the run, and unable to trust anyone…

In addition to “Eraser”, there is another Prime newcomer that we don’t want to withhold from you.

New to Amazon Prime Video: “Irresistible” with Steve Carell

If you have a penchant for political satires that don’t snort with anger but are able to put you in a good mood, you shouldn’t miss “Irresistible” by “Daily Show” host and cult cabaret artist Jon Stewart. The film, starring Steve Carell, Rose Byrne, and Chris Cooper, is now included in the Prime subscription.

And that’s what it’s all about: Gary Zimmer (Steve Carell), the top strategist for the Democratic National Committee, sees a video of retired Navy Colonel Jack Hastings (Chris Cooper) defending the rights of his city’s undocumented workers. Zimmer then believes he has found the key to winning back voters in the heart of America. During an unscheduled visit to Hastings’ dairy farm in rural Deerlaken, Gary convinces the retired Marine to run for mayor.

Initially, Gary relies on Jack’s very capable daughter Diana (Mackenzie Davis) and a team of enthusiastic, if inexperienced, volunteers. However, when the Republican National Committee confronts him by sending his brilliant nemesis, Faith Brewster (Rose Byrne), Gary is more than willing to up his game. As Gary and Faith balance each other, what began as a local race quickly escalates into a national political battle for the soul of America.
