Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan has joined the cast of the film adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s bestselling memoir “The Outrun.”
Amy Liptrot’s bestselling memoir “The Outrun” is being adapted for the movie. Nora Fingscheidt, the director of the Netflix movie The Unforgivable starring Sandra Bullock, will sit in the director’s chair of the movie. Saoirse Ronan, who was nominated for 4 Oscars for her performances in the films Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and Little Women, will take the lead role.
Released in 2015 and not translated into Turkish, “The Outrun” tells the journey of a woman who has just come out of rehabilitation to her childhood. Rona returns to her sheep farm in Scotland’s wild Orkney Islands, where she spent her childhood and was separated for many years, and begins to piece together her childhood memories as she embarks on a journey of recovery.
The screenplay for the movie will be penned by Nora Fingscheidt and Amy Liptrot. In addition to starring Saoirse Ronan, production companies Brock Media, Mogambo, and Weidemann Bros. will act as co-producer.
