In 2015, Dwayne Johnson continues on yet another action film entitled “San Andreas”. The actor does not know it yet, but one of the sequences in which he will shine, will save a life in reality.
San Andreas : Dwayne Johnson flexes his muscles in the face of the earthquake
2015 is another big year for actor Dwayne Johnson. Indeed, not only does he resume his charismatic character of Luke Hobbs in Fast & Furious 7, but in addition, he holds the poster of a new blockbuster titled San Andreas. Directed by Brad Peyton (who had already collaborated with the actor in 2012 on Journey to the Center of the Earth 2), the disaster film depicts in an extreme way the devastating events that could occur if the San Andreas Rift (which notably passes between Los Angeles and San Francisco) had just opened up completely. The feature film follows Ray Gaines, a mountain rescue helicopter pilot, and his ex-wife Emma who leave Los Angeles for San Francisco to find their daughter Blake.
Although reviews were mixed upon its release, San Andreas enjoyed great commercial success with $473.9 million in revenue raised. Therefore, it pays off its $110 million budget perfectly.
Dwayne, hero in spite of himself
One of the scenes from San Andreas shows Ray providing first aid to his daughter Blake, after having rescued her from drowning. This sequence, however harmless, produced a strong echo 2 years later. In fact, the site of Detroit WXYZ 7 News reports that in 2017, a 10-year-old boy named Jacob O’Connor was inspired by the film to save his 2-year-old brother. Thus, he had fallen into his grandmother’s swimming pool, almost drowning. It then took the intervention of Jacob who performed a cardiac massage, just like the character played by Dwayne Johnson.
The star of san andreas did not fail to congratulate this hero of the day by sharing the article and sending him a little message.
He even wished to meet Jacob to see him and shake his hand. The boy was therefore invited to visit him on the set of his film Skyscraper. Dwayne’s high class, as always.
