The cast of the Paramount thriller “Burning Girls” has been completed.
“The Walking Dead”star of Samantha Morton and”Bridgerton” star Ruby Stokes will star in Paramount’s new thriller series “Burning Girls.”
Based on the novel of the same name by CJ Tudor, the series centers around Jack Brooks (Morton), a widowed vicar, and his rebellious teenage daughter, Flo (Stokes), who is plagued by a tragedy at his previous church. Although Chapel Croft, where the duo settled, seems like a suitable place for a new beginning, it soon reveals the dark history of the community and its distrust towards strangers…
The script of the six-episode “Burning Girls” was penned by Hans Rosenfeldt and Camilla Ahlgren, the screenwriters of the detective and mystery series “The Bridge” (Broen/Broen). Also in the series, Conrad Khan (Peaky Blinders), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), Elodie Grace Orkin (Stranger Things), John Macmillan (House of Dragon), David Dawson (The Last Kingdom) players are included.
Morton, who received Oscar nominations for “Sweet and Lowdown” in 1999 and “In America” in 2003, recently reprized the role of Alpha in “Tales of the Walking Dead.” Morton now appears as Catherine de Medici in the Starz-era drama “The Serpent Queen.” Ruby Stokes most recently starred in Netflix’s upcoming action adventure series “Lockwood & Co.”
