On the occasion of the release of “Kung-Fu Zohra” in cinemas on March 9, we met Sabrina Ouazani. The actress comes back with us on her journey, from her beginnings in “L’Esquive” to “Plan Coeur” on Netflix via “Pattaya”.
The funny course of Sabrina Ouazani
Sabrina Ouazani took his first steps in the cinema thanks to Dodge (2004) by Abdellatif Kechiche. However, nothing seemed to destine her for a career in the cinema. A bit hyperactive and far from being the most serious in class, she takes advantage of the holidays to participate in the casting of the film, seeing, with her brother, this as a simple activity proposed by her mother to occupy them. But Kechiche spots her and thus launches her adventure in the cinema.
Kechiche I remember his directions. I remember that he yelled at me too because I was doing stupid things. I was drawing on the board in my Marivaux dress. He arrived, he saw me with the chalk and said ‘but what are you doing? You’re in a dress, are you sick?’
In now almost twenty years, the actress has chained the shootings with at first dramatic roles – at Klapisch, again Kechiche or Asghar Farhadi. Then, it was a comedy that imposed itself on her. In 2012, with the other side of the ring-road or in 2016 in Pattaya in which she truly martyrs Franck Gastambide. A secondary but hilarious and memorable role.
In the foreground of Kung-Fu Zohra
After participating in the Netflix series heart plan Sabrina Ouazani is this time on the bill of Kung Fu Zohra. Neither a comedy nor a drama, but an in-between which corresponds precisely to the actress. She plays Zohra, a woman beaten by her husband who decides to learn kung fu to be able to defend herself when the next slap comes. Not doing things by halves, the actress took the opportunity to really learn martial arts.
I very quickly asked Mabrouk to meet a kung-fu master.
Four and a half months of preparation and here is Sabrina Ouazani ready to do battle with Ramzy Bedia in Kung-Fu Zohra. The film is to be discovered in theaters on March 9, 2022.
