Tom Cruise thought he was going to be the first actor to shoot a fiction in space. He will regret to learn that a Russian team will beat him by taking off aboard the ISS to film a feature film entitled “The Challenge.”

Tom Cruise is an actor apart in the Hollywood system, with a thirst for success and a desire to always surpass himself. We see it with the films of the saga Impossible mission, thanks to which he can achieve great things without resorting to liners. It is useless to summarize all the performances he has authored and it is to be expected that he will not stop along the way.
A new milestone will be crossed because he has decided to go and shoot in space. An ambitious project carried out by Doug Liman, with the collaboration of NASA and SpaceX. The goal is to be the first to turn in the stars. If this case is still a little obscure, we already know that only one sequence will be filmed aboard the International Space Station. We are not yet at the stage where an entire production is done in space. The performance is still impressive and will not fail to speak.
A Russian team ahead of the project with Tom Cruise
Except that Tom Cruise and the film crew won’t be the first to hit the ISS. Variety reveals thata russian feature film will soon be filmed in this very special place. We obviously know the liabilities between the United States and Russia with regard to the conquest of space, and we feel that their rivalry is still very much alive.
Before Tom Cruise and Doug Liman, it is therefore the director Klim Shipenko and the actress Yulia Peresild who will have the honor of filming inside the station for a feature film entitled The Challenge. They will be accompanied by two cosmonauts in this adventure which will contain 12 days of filming. Their departure is scheduled for October 5 and everything is now in order for this to happen.
The scenario will follow a surgeon sent aboard the ISS to save the life of a cosmonaut who has suffered a cardiac arrest. An operation is absolutely necessary to repatriate him to Earth and everything will rest on the shoulders of a heroine who would never have thought of being sent into space. The director is not going to film all of his work overhead, but he plans to at least pack a good half hour. The Challenge should be released in 2022, at a date not yet determined. It seems likely that he will arrive before the feature film worn by Tom Cruise.
