In one week, TF1 strengthens its offer in terms of original creations with the launch of “A French affair” devoted to the affair of little Grégory and that of “Fugueuse”, a series on prostitution. The two have one thing in common: Michaël Youn.
Runaway : what is this series launched on TF1?
In 2018, the series Baby on Netflix caused controversy by talking about prostitution in the teenage world. A strong and sulphurous subject, which did not give rise to a necessarily interesting result. If we talk to you about this title from the American platform, it’s because the series Runaway talking about the same thing.
Launched on TF1 on September 23, it is adapted from an eponymous Quebec series and tells the story of Léa, a 16 year old teenager who falls under the spell of an older man. Blinded by her power of attraction, she gradually lets herself be vampirized, to the point of becoming a prostitute. This worrying situation will alert those around her, and first and foremost her parents who will try to get her out of this bad patch. The title refers to that famous evening when Lea decides to run away from home to go to a dance party. An event that will make him put his finger in a terrible gear.
A real social issue
With such a theme, Runaway should be talked about. We will not advance on the hearings but TF1 has the merit of bringing to the table a social issue that we do not necessarily know. The victims number in the thousands in France and it is rather interesting to seek to speak to the current youth on the first channel of Europe.
In the main role, it is the young Romane Jolly who was chosen. If the public does not know her yet, it is because she is at the beginning of her career. His participation in Runaway could detonate it. She gives the answer to a more experienced cast, with in particular Michaël Youn and Sylvie Testud who camp her parents. We weren’t necessarily expecting the former Morning Live troublemaker in this kind of role, but we’re curious to see how he can cope. Moreover, he also stands out in a serious composition, always on TF1, with A French affair.
