Romy Walthall, actress of Volte / Face, has died


She had worked with huge stars such as Jennifer Lopez or even John Travolta… The actress and former top model Romy Walthall died of cardiac arrest at the age of 57.

From modeling to cinema

It was his son, actor and director Morgan Krantz who broke the sad news on social media.with a sober message and a series of photos of his mother. Her two other children Isabella and Theodore also posted touching messages to pay tribute to Romy Walthall. Isabella further wrote this:

She was everything at the same time. It was my first love. She was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She was mean and funny, light and dark, and she possessed the kind of magic that you really don’t see. I will always love you.

Born September 16, 1963 in Pasadena (Texas), Romy Walthall, also known as Romy Windsor, began a modeling career at the age of 17. She notably won a Mother / Daughter USA beauty contest, which will allow her to be spotted by the famous modeling agency Ford Models. Indeed, the latter is known for having launched future other stars such as Sharon Stone, Kim Basinger, Jane Fonda, Kirsten Dunst or even Susan Sarandon.

This is how she will roam the European stages, until she returns to Los Angeles. where she will pursue a second career: that of actress. We will then find her in films such as Desire thieves, A Bunny’s Tale or even the horror film The Usher House.

From television to Volte / Face

It is especially in television series that the public will discover it. Indeed, we will find her as a guest in popular shows such as Hooker, Quantum Code, Law is the law, Moonlight, Los Angeles law, Matlock, Cruising has fun, Diagnosis: Murder or even X-Files. But it’s mostly in the series Hotel Malibu that Romy Walthall will stand out, playing alongside a promising young actress: a certain Jennifer Lopez, alias J-Lo.

In 1997, she plays a small role in a huge blockbuster: Volte / Face, directed by John Woo. She therefore rubs shoulders with the Hollywood stars of the time John Travolta and Nicolas Cage.

Subsequently, Romy Walthall had chosen to move away from the trays and had converted into teaching. However, in 2011, she last appeared on screens, alongside her son Morgan Krantz.
