The duo is working on a new movie that centers around Donald E. Westlake’s character Parker, which has been screened many times before.
Having previously worked on “Iron Man 3” and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, Robert Downey Jr. and screenwriter-director Shane Black started preparations for a new film project. The target of the duo is American author Donald E. Westlake’s detective adventure books written under the pseudonym Richard Stark.
Parker, Westlake’s famous anti-hero in 24 novels, previously featured in “Point Blank” (1967), “The Split” (1968), “The Outfit” (1973), “Slayground” (1983), “Payback” (1999) ) and most recently “Parker” (2013).
Directed by Taylor Hackford, “Parker” is played by Jason Statham, the sought-after name of action movies; Mel Gibson played the Parker-inspired character Porter in “Payback,” directed by Brian Helgeland.
Robert Downey Jr. stars as Parker in the new adaptation of Westlake’s books. will enliven. It is not yet clear whether the director Sahne Black will write the script himself or entrust it to another name. The film, whose official name has not yet been announced, will be released on Amazon Prime.
