After the film “Robbers”, Julien Leclercq will return to Netflix with a derivative series, still with Sami Bouajila at the head of the bill. Discover the first trailer in which we find, unsurprisingly, the action.
Robbers : a Netflix series inspired by the film is coming
Julien Leclercq’s name is known in France, if you are interested in action cinema. Lately, it’s mostly on Netflix that we’ve heard about him with feature films. Earth and blood then Sentinel. In 2016, in theaters, he was talked about with Robbers. A film about a gang of robbers in the Paris region who were to ally themselves with city dealers following a regrettable event. Except that the agreement would soon deteriorate, triggering a violent war between the two camps.
Last year, Netflix confirmed its desire to continue with Julien Leclercq by announcing thata series derived from Robbers was in preparation. We know that the firm seeks to create original content specific to each country and France remains an interesting market in which to invest.
Sami Bouajila still in the casting, but in another role
We did not yet have major indications on how the script would position itself in relation to the film. Things seem clearer to us with the release of the first trailer. Sami Bouajila will be back on camera for Robbers, the series except that he will not play the same role as in the past. Proof that we will remain in a similar spirit, but not in a scriptwriting extension.
The star will this time camp Mehdi, an experienced robber who will work with a younger criminal (Tracy Gotoas) to help Shaïnez (Sofia Lesaffre), the co-heroine’s girlfriend. We find patterns similar to those of the film, both in substance and in form. Like the feature film, the series brings out heavy artillery and seems to want to offer strong action scenes. Julien Lerclecq being always involved in the realization, this consistency with Robbers makes sense.
With the action genre being very hot right now, we don’t see how the show could not work here. We can also imagine him having a good career abroad. It is scheduled to go online soon, September 24.
