SERIES REVIEW / REVIEW – Adult Swim aired the fifth season of “Rick and Morty” during the summer. As usual, the duo Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland took their characters on totally crazy and irreverent adventures.
Rick and Morty season 5: an excellent vintage
This season 5 of Rick and Morty includes 10 episodes. At present, Adult Swim aired the first 8 episodes. For the last two chapters, we will have to be patient. Indeed, in the United States, Episode 9 will air on Sunday, September 5, 2021, and will be the first part of a story in two episodes, which will conclude this new season. And this year, we can say that Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have hit really hard. The quality of these new episodes is quite impressive. The duo went a step further than in the previous season. Eight magnificent, hilarious, fascinating episodes, mastered with an iron fist.
From the first episode, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland lay the groundwork. They once again lead Rick and Morty on a relevant, intelligent, and above all thrilling space-time adventure. In this quest for time, Morty is faced with people who live in a place where time flies much faster than in their own reality. The two authors thus play, once again with temporal concepts, with a certain verve, it must be admitted. Then, the spectators are in their element. Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon offer one after another some very good stories, whether it is the brilliant episode of the decoys, the new confrontation with the President of the United States, or even the diversion of Martin Scorsese’s cinema-like Rick and Morty.
A limitless series
Thus, once again, the two artists prove their ability to tell new stories, as successful as ever. The duo plays with the concepts of time, space, and dimensions with a disconcerting simplicity. They use complex scientific concepts, simplified with the use of re-adapted cinematic shots, all in a 20-minute format. Their talent for the exercise is well established, and the potential of the series Rick and Morty is limitless.

And although some episodes sometimes recall past stories, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland manage to renew themselves enough to take Rick and Morty towards new horizons. And this new season proves that the quality of the show is not decreasing, on the contrary. At present, this season 5 is more successful than the previous one, and we wonder what the two artists have in store for the last two episodes of the season …
