“Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City”, the reboot of the saga, is revealed with a first trailer which promises a return to origins with a host of zombies.
resident Evil, a horror franchise
Following the success of franchise resident Evil on consoles, the cinema has decided to offer video games an adaptation to the cinema. Directed in 2002 by Paul WS Anderson, we discovered a first rather effective and relatively well conducted zombie film, with all the same big differences with the first video game opus. Never mind, the filmmaker continued with five other films. As a screenwriter and producer for Apocalypse and Extinction, then again as director for the next three. Films far from being of quality and which made the hair of many gamers tearing out, but which have always had enough success in theaters to allow the massacre to continue. We may be able to forget the first series of films with the reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, here is the official synopsis:
This new chapter of the RESIDENT EVIL saga, set in 1998, finally reveals the secrets of the Spencer mansion and the city that was once the flourishing headquarters of the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation. Since the departure of the all-powerful company, Raccoon City has sunk to ruin, and a terrible threat lurks deep within its bowels. When evil awakens with horror, a small group of survivors will join forces to try to uncover the truth about Umbrella,
hoping to see the end of the night …
A trailer for the reboot
Exit Paul WS Anderson, it is now Johannes Roberts who decided to make his version of resident Evil. The filmmaker already has experience in horror since we owe him the effective sharks film 47 Meters Down or even the distressing The Strangers: Prey at Night. Regarding Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, the film is revealed with a first trailer (in an article) which immediately sets the tone with spooky creatures in pursuit of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. The two iconic video game characters are embodied by Kaya Scodelario and Avan Jogia.
They won’t be the only ones to come to Spencer Manor where secrets await them and the creatures of the Umbrella Corporation. We can see in the video Jill Valentine played by Hannah John-Kamen, Chris Redfield played by Robbie Amell, not to mention Albert Wesker played by Tom Hopper.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City So should go back to something more terrifying while ensuring the visual spectacle and including nods to the first two video games. The film will be to discover in theaters November 24.
