“Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,” the franchise’s theatrical reboot, shows off even more with a new trailer full of zombies and spooky creatures. On view in theaters November 24.
A new film for an indestructible franchise
With Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City the video game franchise continues to develop in the cinema. If the first game was released in 1996, many sequels have been born since, and a first adaptation by Paul WS Anderson arrived in 2002. In total, six films were made before this reboot was ordered. And we don’t forget the animated films and the series Netflix Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. All this from a story of zombies that began in the small town of Raccoon City …
In the new film, we will see mythical characters from the saga attempting to survive a night of terror in Raccoon City. While the feature film appears to have a lot of differences from the games, there will also be some obvious commonalities and nods, as can be seen with the new trailer (in an article) just revealed.

Indeed, this new video starts with Claire Redfield (Kaya Scodelario) back in Raccoon City on September 30, 1998. An alarm sounds and the various protagonists understand that something terrible is brewing. The zombies are here, and it will be up to Claire to stop them to prevent global contamination. With a small team and a lot of weapons, she will intervene sometimes at the police station of Raccoon, sometimes at the Spencer mansion where it all started.
To accompany it, we find Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker or Leon S. Kennedy, performed by Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hopper and Avan Jogia. Also featured in this trailer is Police Chief Brian Irons played here by Donal Logue, and Doctor William Birkin, at the origin of the virus, and embodied by Neal McDonough. Finally, on the side of the monsters, we can see that there will not be only simple living dead to face. A zombie doberman and even bigger creatures will remind fans of some memories. Enough to promise a film full of action and scary moments. The film will be released in theaters November 24.
