Four years after the end of the saga headed by Paul WS Anderson, “Resident Evil” has a makeover in cinema, with a reboot more faithful to video games. To the delight of fans, if we are to believe the cast led by Kaya Scodelario.
Like the zombies that inhabit it, the saga resident Evil comes back to life on the big screen. Four years after the last film signed Paul WS Anderson, it is Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) that we find at the controls of a reboot determined to play the card of fidelity to the original material.
This is how Welcome to Raccoon City mixes the intrigues and locations of the first two games, and we find both the sinister Spencer mansion and the police station. And characters as iconic as Claire and Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy and Albert Wesker can be.
Which are respectively embodied by Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Avan Jogia and Tom Hopper, who come back with us on this film, from their knowledge of the games to the loyalty shown by the feature film, in theaters since Wednesday, November 24.
