Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake in the pipeline? Capcom responds

With Capcom’s hot activity for a few days, it’s the real news fair about the Silent Hill and Resident Evil saga. This is particularly the opportunity to hear about a game from beyond the grave: Resident Evil Code Veronica. A remake in the pipes of the Japanese publisher?

A Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake?

In a new interview with Noisy Pixel, Resident Evil 4 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said the company has no “concrete plan” to create a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica. So we will have to dry our tears and wait patiently because nothing is in preparation at the moment. Of course that does not mean that we will never have the opportunity to get our hands on it one day… Especially since the man does not completely close the door and leaves a glimmer of hope for the fans by saying that Capcom could do it if “the opportunity arises“.

For the record, RE Code Veronica is a Dreamcast game that dates back to 2000. It allows you to embody the very charismatic Claire Redfield who is then investigating the island of Rockford. Later in 2001 and 2003 the game was ported to Gamecube and then PlayStation 2 as Resident Evil Code Veronica X. The latest release of the horror title is from 2011 and bears the suffix HD.

Note that in 2021 fans on behalf of CoreyoCroft and Legendary8chaos had made a false announcement of the remake via a nice visual that you can find below:
