As expected, Resident Evil 4 Remake made a remarkable appearance during the RE Showcase. Capcom unveiled a big, enviable gameplay trailer.
Those who were left unsatisfied with the first trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake should be happier tonight.
Resident Evil 4 Remake returns in a gameplay video
Resident Evil 4 Remake will break away from the original material to turn more towards horror. We see it from the beginning of the video where Leon S Kennedy wanders in a wood before entering a house with a very gloomy basement. The hut from the first encounter in the base game? The action is also still there. Leon S Kennedy still distributes his legendary back kicks.
So it’s both familiar and new, a direction taken by teams who wanted to deviate from the 2005 version with Resident Evil 4 Remake.
This time, we are developing the game with the aim of offering an exceptional level of quality up to what can be expected from a survival horror in 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game. We want fans of the series to rediscover what made the game so successful, while infusing it with new and refreshing elements. A will that goes through the rewriting of the story while keeping its main plot, the modernization of the graphics and the updating of the controls to adapt to current standards.
The RE Engine, more at home than ever in dark scenes, still works wonders here. Enough to alter the atmosphere of RE4 to bring another look. An exchange system is also arriving to barter gems for special items. The story trailer is in any case likely to raise the hype.
