1997. A year after the release and success of Scream, Hollywood studios seize on the madness of slashers. Written by Kevin Williamson – the man behind the Wes Craven film – Remember … last summer is the first project in this wave of teen movies who try to recreate the magic. Adapted from the novel by Lois Duncan, published in 1973, the feature film does not receive the same praise as its model but nevertheless gains cult status. Its cast has a lot to do with it: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Ryan Phillippe, all four very popular in the nineties.

Twenty-four years later, it’s time for the series. Produced by James Wan, it is inspired by the original film, but also the book, with new characters and a new setting: no more small fishing town, the action will now take place in Hawaii. The plot, meanwhile, remains the same, with the only difference that the program will focus on the different points of view of the heroes after the terrible accident that changed their lives.

Composed of 8 episodes, Remember … last summer is once again led by a cast of young actors: Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Annabelle: House of Evil), Ezekiel Goodman, Brianne Tju (the series Scream), Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve) and Fiona Rene (Stumptown).

The first 4 episodes will be released on October 15 on the Amazon Prime Video platform, the others will be available every Friday at the rate of one per week. As a reminder, the two films Remember … last summer had each gathered more than a million tickets in theaters.
