The series adapted from the cult horror film Remember … last summer is revealed in a first rock’n’roll teaser. A new killer will torment a group of teens hiding a dark secret in this awaited reboot on Amazon Prime Video.
Twenty-four years after the cult film, Remember last summer (I Know What You Did Last Summer, in original version) comes back to haunt horror fans in a serial reboot. Scheduled from October 15 on Amazon Prime Video, the 8-episode series takes up more or less the plot of Jim Gillespie’s feature film adapted from the novel by Lois Duncan published in 1973.
Remember Last summer follows teens bound by a dark secret and tracked down by a brutal killer, a year after a traumatic fatal car crash on their graduation night. As they try to find out who is after them, they will find that they are not the only ones hiding truths in their city.
If we are to believe the first teaser unveiled by Amazon Prime Video, the series should be as rock’n’roll as it is agonizing, embracing the genres of thriller and teen drama in the age of social networks. Produced by James Wan (Conjuring, Insidious), Remember Last Summer set down in Hawaii and takes a look at the heroes’ different perspectives after the crash that turned their lives upside down.
The cast of the series includes: Madison Iseman (Annabelle: La Maison du Mal), Ezekiel Goodman, Brianne Tju (the Scream series), Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck (Connecting), Bill Heck (Locke & Key) and Brooke Bloom (Homecoming).
Note that the first 4 episodes of Remember last summer will be released on October 15 on the Amazon Prime Video platform. The other four episodes will be available every Friday, one per week.
