After Halloween, that doesn’t mean we don’t want to be scared anymore. The Wild West can, on PC, have some nice surprises in store for Red Dead Redemption fans.
Years that players have hoped Rockstar will surprise them. But 3 years after its release, and several statements recalling it, we must make up our minds. An expansion to Red Dead Redemption II will remain only a dream. Everything for Red Dead Online, we’ve been telling you for ages. But we can always count on amateur developers to make us happy. Especially when they are inspired by a proven single player DLC: the very undead Undead Nightmare. Never appeared on PC, necessarily.
Undead Nightmare II
A group of modders uploaded a few days ago Undead Nightmare II: Origins. To download for free on nexxusmods, this 350 MB program takes up the main lines of the apocalyptic “sequel” of Red Dead Redemption.
Residents set towns ablaze in an attempt to kill the living dead, some took to heights to protect their families, while others perished in the streets. Local shop owners fled or embarked inside to defend themselves against looters, who hid supplies throughout the city. The law has bigger issues to deal with. New Austin was the hardest hit, with a small number of dead still roaming the five states, but mostly controlled by law… for now.
To sum up, thanks to Dick Hertz, Eki, SgtJoe and Bolmin, you will return to the shoes of a deceased John Marston and explore the American West in a new light. Really new for once, since the mood has completely changed. Whether you travel to Armadillo, Blackwater or the plains, the conclusion will be the same: the end of the world is near.
Lit by a red moon and caught in thick fog, the New Austin area is out of control. The streets are on fire, the houses and ranches are barricaded … And even the survivors can become your enemies. Not to spoil anything, the group of amateur developers also worked on the sound atmosphere. And suddenly it’s less playful.
To take advantage of it, all you have to do is to go to this page and follow the installation instructions. Good luck, the stranger.
