Even if it is a reissue of very famous games that have already sold tens of millions of copies, the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is nonetheless one of the most anticipated games of this end of the year. In anticipation of the imminent arrival of the compilation, some players may want to set aside space on their console. And on PS5, they now know what sauce they are going to be eaten in.
The space required to install the three games of the GTA Trilogy Definite Edition on PS5 is now known. Indeed, the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size discovered the information on the PlayStation Network servers.
In total, you will therefore need about 39 GB to install the three GTAs on a PS5. The game-by-game detail shows that, logically, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition is by far the heaviest of the three:
- 5,293 GB for Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition
- 10,768 GB for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition
- 22.679 GB for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition
Note that these weights do not include any Day One patches or upcoming updates. Given the stature of these three titles, and particularly that of San Andreas, these weights on PS5 are relatively reasonable. Indeed, these new versions have high-resolution assets that could have raised the counters.
The GTA Trilogy Definite Edition games soon to be sold individually?
These elements show that each of the three games can therefore be installed separately. And who says separate installation says individual icon. Icons for all three titles are available in our gallery below.
It has already been announced that GTA 3 and San Andreas will be offered individually on PlayStation Now and Xbox Game Pass respectively. It would therefore not be surprising if these three Definitive Edition versions were sold individually afterwards.
Collectors will have to wait a little longer
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will therefore be released in dematerialized version on November 11. On that date, the game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. However, the games in the compilation can be pre-loaded from November 9th.
As for the boxed versions of the GTA Trilogy Definite Edition, they will arrive next, on December 7th on consoles. Finally, let us remember that the compilation will also be released on iOS and Android next year.
