Faced with competition embodied by Microsoft or Epic Games, Sony continues to resist free access. This is undoubtedly why the manufacturer’s new find seems to herald a bright future.
In addition to various subscriptions such as PS Now or PlayStation Plus, savings-conscious gamers can now count on Sony’s new free proposition. This weekend, the Japanese manufacturer indeed announced the arrival of Game Trials, an offer that allows you to try out some console exclusives for free. But beware, the list of prerequisites is as long as a walk in the latest game of Hideo Kojima …
Tomorrow is in your wallet
The brand new range of Game Trials currently consists of two PS5 games: the highly augmented Death Stranding Director’s Cut and the platformer Sackboy A Big Adventure. Currently only available to UK players, these two trial versions can be downloaded via their respective pages on the PlayStation Store., as our colleagues across the Channel from Eurogamer were able to capture:
But beware, as often on such an occasion, it is advisable to read carefully the small lines of the contract, which strictly frame these few hours of free pleasure:
– The five hour trial period begins when you click “download trial version” on PS5 or “add to library” on your browser. The duration of the test is subject to change.
– The trial is limited to one account per game
– The trial is only for the PS5 version of the game. The Game Trials feature is not available on PS4.
You will understand: you must include in the few hours of testing those necessary to download the game, a detail of weight when we know for example that Death Stranding Director’s Cut requires no less than 49 GB to get started. Those who have traveled through the United States of America will not fail to wonder about the relevance of such a choice in view of the first hours of the adventure. But this is none of our business. Fortunately, Game Trials saves can be kept for those who ultimately purchase the final version.
Notice to those who would like to create a British account for the occasion: the first two Game Trials offers will only be available until October 28.
