At the end of the 80s, when she was about to shoot in Camille Claudel by Bruno Nuytten, the actress could only imagine one person giving her the answer in the role of the sculptor Rodin: Gérard Depardieu.
This one is filming in the north of France, Isabelle Adjani therefore decides to visit him to try to convince him. What is not his surprise when he arrives in Montreuil-sur-Mer to discover the place where the actor resides, a sort of inn in the hands of two unwelcoming landladies, where squeaks, creaks and other noises are constantly heard. sinister.
When Depardieu finds her, still dressed in the cassock and the studded soles of his seminarian character in Under the Sun of Satan, he invites her into his room and explains that he never takes off his costume, “Even to sleep” specifies the actress. As if inhabited by the role he plays in Maurice Pialat’s film, he offers Adjani a pseudo-exorcism session, interrupted by a general power cut.
Night walk in the forest
The actor then takes him on a 4×4 trip in the nearby forest, where the two actors then walk on muddy paths. On their return to the inn, the two fall asleep on the sofas in the dining room.
