“Stranger Things” is the biggest Netflix hit of the year so far, but season 4 of the mystery series, which started at the end of May, is not over yet. Next Friday, July 1st, the streaming service will release part 2 of the fourth season, consisting of episodes 8 and 9. That doesn’t sound like much, but these are two extremely long episodes, so that you will be busy with them for almost four hours (!) in total. However, you should get used to the idea that not all of your “Stranger Things”-favorites will survive the season finale…
But before we get to the frightening statements of the cast members, here is an overview of the most important facts.
What time do the new episodes start? Part 2 of “Stranger ThingsSeason 4 will be released on Netflix on July 1, 2022 at 9 p.m. and consists of two episodes.
How long is the season 4 finale? The previous seven episodes of the current season were longer than usual. But the finale will top everything so far. While Episode 8 is 85 minutes (i.e. 1 hour 25 minutes), Episode 9 is an incredible 139 minutes (2 hours and 19 minutes). This is already considered overlength in the cinema, but is completely unusual in the series area. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer claim they just couldn’t find a point to split the episode, leaving it up to the viewers to decide: ‘At one point we just said, ‘Well, it’s a mega episode’ . If someone wants to take a break, he or she can do that,” Ross told Duffer Variety.
“Stranger Things’ was never squeamish when it came to allowing minor characters to die in bestial ways. But the main cast has so far mostly been spared. But that could change in season 4. That’s what the Duffer brothers announced to each other TVLine: “It can happen to anyone, even longtime fan favorites.”
There were also worrying statements from the stars of the Netflix series. “It’s just carnage!”promised Eddie actor Joseph Quinn in conversation with The Guardian and Noah Schnapp moved to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (via Yahoo!) after: “You can expect multiple deaths in Part 2”said the Netflix star, who has starred as Will Byers since Season 1.
So one thing is clear: in the finale of “Stranger Things 4” people will die. Which and how many, we have already speculated in a separate article:
