Preview of the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" finale on Disney +: That's why Luke Skywalker & Qui-Gon Jinn will still be important in episode 6

For years, fans have had to wait for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and now it’s almost over. The final episode 6 of the “Star Wars’ series arrives June 22, 2022 at 9 p.m. on Disney+. Before that happens, our YouTube editor Sebastian reviews all the important events from episode 5 and speculates on how things could continue in the grand finale. He presents his ideas to you in the video above. We have summarized the most important points here again in text form.

» “Obi Wan Kenobi” on Disney+*

In one of the most spectacular scenes of the entire series, Reva (Moses Ingram) had to face off against Darth Vader in episode 5 – and was humiliated in the process like perhaps no other lightsaber-wielding character in the history of “Star Wars“. It was easy for Vader and he didn’t even bother to kill the traitor. Instead, he inflicted a nonfatal wound on her and left her. But how is she doing now?

Episode 5 provides an important clue: Reva finds Obi-Wan’s communicator, which has a message from Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) stored on it. The following fragments of the message can be heard: “When he finds you, found out from the children… I’m leaving for Tatooine… Owen will… help him with the boy.”

So Reva now knows that Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) is headed to Tatooine and that Owen Lars (whom she already suspects) is harboring a boy she doesn’t want Darth Vader to know about. But what does Reva do with this information?

It is quite possible that she is now planning to kidnap little Luke (Grant Feely) in order to have a trump card in her hand. However, it seems unlikely that she could regain Vader’s favor even with that. This train has left. However, she may be using the boy to put Obi-Wan and Vader in a position to get her revenge.

Exactly what Reva is up to now remains to be seen, but Luke will definitely still play an important role in Episode 6. It’s not for nothing that the last scene from episode 5 shows young Skywalker again.

Sebastian says: Yes, yes and again yes. Because the first duel was nothing. Obi-Wan was just a shadow of his former self, and Darth Vader effortlessly wiped the floor with him, which, by the way, he had previously set on fire! There was now a flashback with a duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin (Hayden Christensen), but the series is still missing a real fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader on an equal footing.

In the meantime, the traumatized Jedi has pulled himself together, he has restored his connection to the Force and he now swings his lightsaber again with much greater self-confidence. The fans want Obi-Wan vs. Vader and the finale will most likely deliver that (again).

However, there’s one more Force user who can’t be left out of the finale: Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson). It has long been speculated that Obi-Wan’s late master will appear as a Force Ghost in the Disney Plus series – and with good reason. Because Qui-Gon Jinn is the first Jedi ever within the film and series plot to have gained the ability to become a Force Ghost, as shown in “The Clone Wars”.

In episode 1, Obi-Wan has already tried to contact him. But without success. For the broken Jedi had become estranged from the Force. A connection was so impossible. Now that Obi-Wan has reopened to the Force, the stage is set for Qui-Gon Jinn to return as a Force Ghost. We therefore firmly believe that the Jedi played by Liam Neeson (if only for a brief scene) in the finale of the “Star Wars’ series will emerge.

As previously mentioned, Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6 will be released on June 22nd. 2022 on Disney+. With the “Star Wars“-Future after the final, Sebastian dealt with another video.
