Epic Games has identified the many developers who will adopt Unreal Engine 5 for their games. PlayStation with its PS VR 2, Xbox, and many third parties are in the game.
During its last conference, Epic Games announced the immediate availability of its Unreal Engine 5. The new version of its engine which was released by Fortnite and which, in time, will power a package of games. In addition to confirmed projects, here are the studios that use the UE5.
Developers pounce on Unreal Engine 5
We obviously don’t have access to all the games that will run on UE5, but several have come forward on their own. CD Projekt Red flipped on it for The Witcher 4 to have a “more stunning open-world”, and Crystal Dynamics will do the same for the new Tomb Raider game.
The Coalition, which just released a tech demo, will continue to adopt it for Gears 6 or its unreleased IP as well, like many Xbox Game Studios. Indeed, on the slide below, other Microsoft studios appear like Undead Labs (State of Decay 3), Obsidian Entertainment (Awoved, The Outer Worlds 2…), or The Initiative (Perfect Dark).
Another manufacturer is also in the photo: Sony Interactive Entertainment. If PlayStation Studios have their custom engines, Haven – Jade Raymond’s company – has selected the Unreal Engine 5 for its first PS5 exclusive. But on the Sony side, it is above all the PS VR 2 which will benefit from it with, among other things, Horizon Call of the Mountain.

One engine available with two demos
Epic Games has also enhanced Unreal Engine 5 through two downloadable demos. City Sample will take you behind the scenes of The Matrix Awakens, as a viewer. Exit therefore the gunfights in the skin of IO. Gun lovers will turn to Lyra which is a showcase shooter of the features of the UE5 and its in-game rendering. Tim Sweeney and his teams have already planned to update it to demonstrate the latest engine advances.
