The gala program of “Karagöz: A Fun Movie for Me” was held at Beyoğlu Atlas Cinema.
The premiere of the movie “Karagöz: Yâr Bana Bir Entertainment”, produced by Yedirenk Communication with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and in partnership with TRT, was held at Beyoğlu Atlas Cinema.
The film, which took about 4 years to produce, will be screened in cinemas in Turkey on August 26, and will be screened in European countries and Azerbaijan on September 15. The film is produced by Bilal Arıoğlu and İsrafil Kuralay and directed by Murat Karahüseyinoğlu.
Apart from Karagöz and Hacivat, there are master names in the voice cast of the film, in which around 80 animated characters are used. Karagöz Yetkin Dikinciler, Hacivat Voiced by Altan Erkekli; Karagöz’s wife Nilgün Kasapbaşoğlu, Mestan Mazlum Kiper, Unsalted Crazy Bekir Selcuk Kipchak, Jazz Girl Zeynep Önen, Son of Cazu Bora Sivri voiced Nuridil as Asuman Barnak.
Speaking at the gala, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Misbah Demircan said that film, cinema, TV series and television productions are especially effective on children.
İsrafil Kuralay, one of the producers of the film: “This work is the first animated film about Karagöz. The duration of Karagöz plays is 80 minutes. Our movie was 79 minutes with 1 minute of evil eye. Karagöz is perceived as a children’s play, however, it appealed to the entire audience at that time.” he said. The director of the movie, Murat Karahüseyinoğlu, said, “The movie Karagöz was adapted to the cinema by scripting 8 of eight plays. The film will be of interest not only to children but also to the whole audience.” made statements.
