The wait for the highly anticipated prequel is almost over. HBO has announced the premiere date for the Game of Thrones project from George RR Martin, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik. The series will air on August 21.
House of the Dragon in the lead roles of Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt SmithEmma D’Arcy, Fabien Frankel, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, and Sonoya Mizuno is located. Based on the book Fire & Blood written by Martin, the series takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on House Targaryen.
Considine plays King Viserys Targaryen. Production of the prequel, which was ordered directly into the series, began in April 2021. House of the Dragon was co-created by Martin and Condal, who wrote the pilot script. Condal will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Miguel Sapochnik also acts as a co-showrunner.
Interestingly, House of the Dragon will be released before the other big-budget fantasy series under construction: Amazon Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power series. The publisher will release the upcoming JRR Tolkien adaptation on September 2. House of the Dragon has released a tease poster, which you can see below, along with new visuals along with the premiere date.
