Under the fire of strong criticism for its technique, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is an absolute hit. In just three days, both versions have sold 10 million copies worldwide, almost half of which come from Japan. The latest iteration is on track to be the best-selling game of the license and inevitably, Nintendo intends to surf the vein. According to a leaker of confidence, the Japanese firm is already preparing DLCs and one of them would be focused on a specific mechanic.
Towards DLC for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
Big N should continue its momentum. As with the previous canonical episodes, namely Pokémon Sword / Shield, the publisher would provide additional content to extend the experience. If the announcement of a possible Pokemon Scarlet & Violet expansion pass is still pending, the leaker Riddler_Khu, well known to the community, goes there with his little revelation. According to him, the Mega Evolution will be back in the future via DLC. This mechanism of Pokemon X & Y, allows to bring its creature to a new stage of evolution if the player activates a special object: the Sesame Gem. A feature that had been taken up in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee, where it was possible to mega-evolve simply if the gem in question was the bag.
It remains to be seen in what form it will return in this possible Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC. A new area should also be in the game since part of the map, to the northeast, is grayed out. Everything seems to point to the return of Kalos, the region inspired by France introduced in Pokemon X & Y. This is timely, since Paldea is itself inspired by Spain and Portugal. It would make sense for them to be neighbors in this universe as well. Based on the DLCs of the previous generation, new Pokémon, useful features, new items and outfits could also be added. However, it will be necessary to wait for the announcement of an extension of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet to know for sure.
