This is news that no one expected. After being blacklisted by Disney for a while, it looks like Johnny Depp could return to the Pirates of the Caribbean Saga.
After Amber Heard’s accusations, Johnny Depp was no longer in the odor of sanctity in Hollywood and in particular at Disney who had decided to no longer work with him. Notably for his now famous role as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. But recently, a source close to Disney would have revealed crisp information in a new interview for the Australian newspaper poptopic.
Depp back in Pirates of the Caribbean for a big check?
Indeed, after Johnny Depp’s highly publicized libel victory earlier this month, it looks like Disney wants to backtrack. It obviously remains information to be taken with the tweezers of the occasion, but the sum of 300 million dollars would have even been offered to the actor for his return.
What I can tell you is that the studio has already written a rough draft for a Jack Sparrow movie, so they’re very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return to his iconic role.
It’s still quite strange when you know that during the Depp / Heard trial, the main interested party had expressed his wish to no longer want to work for Disney. It must be said that during the media coverage of the trial, a certain number of people demanded his return to the saga. And such a sum of money surely deserves reflection.
Note that the next film Pirates of the Caribbean could be done with the presence of actress Margot Robbie. Two scenarios would be studied, one with and the other without the actress. Obviously all this must also depend on decisions about Johnny Depp.
