While the public worried about his state of health after seeing him with crutches at the funeral of Jean-Paul Belmondo, actor Pierre Richard spoke to reassure his fans: he is fine. He explains that he suffers only from a “mechanical problem”.
Pierre Richard, the indefatigable
Now 87 years old, Pierre Richard conquered the hearts of French spectators by playing goofy and dreamy characters in the 70s and 80s. His most famous role remains that of François Perrin in The Tall Blond with a black shoe, The return of the tall blond and The goat. He was also the François Pignon by Francis Veber in Freinds and The fugitives.
Since the end of the 1960s, Pierre Richard has never stopped touring. Over the past decade, we have seen it in particular in Le Petit Spirou, The Ch’tite family, Mrs. Mills, such a perfect neighbor and The Old Furnaces. In 2022, we will find him in Panoramix in the film Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom by Guillaume Canet.
He speaks to reassure his fans
Last Friday September 10, Pierre Richard attended the funeral of his friend Jean-Paul Belmondo, who died on September 6. He appeared weakened, on crutches, which did not fail to worry the public. An article published in France Sunday reported on his worrying state of health. But the tall blond does not let himself be defeated! Yesterday Thursday September 30, he posted a message on his Twitter account to reassure the public. He is fine :
Stunned by the article in France on Sunday. In response to this “fake news”, I want to reassure you, my faithful and friends, that I am fine. My problem is only mechanical: osteoarthritis of the knee.
This reassuring message is accompanied by a photo of Pierre Richard smiling, still with his mischievous gaze.
We can’t resist the urge to see one of his cult scenes again:
