And seven! Episode after episode, Jupiter continues to occupy our time and our mind thanks to the Picross S series. Without warning, the episode of maturity arrives (finally).
As so often, it is to everyone’s surprise that the little guys from Jupiter announce the arrival of a brand new episode. After the parenthesis Mega Drive & Master System Edition, here is Picross S7 is announced today on the eShop of the Switch, for a release fixed for December 27 with us other European players.
The most stylus episode
After seven episodes with relatively similar principles, fans of grids to blacken might legitimately think that almost everything has been said about Picross, and that Jupiter can no longer really reinvent the wheel. After the introduction of Mega Picross in Picross S, that of Clip Picross in its sequel or the addition of touches of color with the third episode, it is difficult to renew a principle as simple as it is devilishly effective.
And yet! With this seventh episode, the Japanese have tried the impossible: to make the game compatible with the Switch touch screen. And the stylus in particular offered with Super Mario Maker 2? Yes perfectly ! For the occasion, two modes will be offered: “Hold”, in which it will be necessary to hold the stick to validate or eliminate the boxes, and “Toggle”, which will allow to engage or not the touch screen with a simple pressure of the stick.
From then on, it will be all the more pleasant to blacken once again some 300 new grids thanks to the first stylus which will fall to your hand, as in the heyday of Picross DS. It was in 2007, which is to say that it took time. Finally, two new 30 by 30 grids will keep us busy until the end of the year. What more ?
The height of luxury: if Picross S7 will not be released until January 10, 2022 in the United States, it will be available from December 27 with us. Joy.
