The series “Peaky Blinders”, adored by a huge community of fans, will soon come to an end with the release of the sixth and final season. But the story of the Shelby gang will then continue on the big screen. And its creator gave news of the upcoming film.

Peaky Blinders will soon end in a series…

Since 2013, Peaky Blinders fascinates a huge number of fans. The latter are waiting impatiently to know the conclusion of the adventures of Tommy Shelby and his family. And to know how far the gang of the character played by Cillian Murphy will go. Nine years after the release of the first season of the series, it will soon end. The sixth and subsequent burst of episodes will air from Sunday 27 February on the BBC in Great Britain. In France, the last episodes of the show will arrive a little later. This time they will be offered exclusively by Netflix and no longer Arte.

Asked by the BBC, Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, explained why the series will end after its sixth chapter. If the show should have had a seventh season, it simply had to be shortened because of the pandemic. But, as a reminder, the adventures of Tommy Shelby’s gang will then continue on the big screen. Before spin-offs, fans of Peaky’s story will be able to follow the rest of their adventures in a film.

… before returning to a film

After giving explanations at the end of the series, Knight has news of the film Peaky Blinders. The creator of the highly successful universe has revealed that the sixth season wouldn’t actually be a conclusion to the gang’s story. So he sees her as “the end of the beginning”. Knight explained his idea for the continuation of the Birmingham gang’s story: “Let’s finish the beginning, and then do the movie. And then we’ll see where we go in terms of spin-offs. »

In an interview for yahoo, Knight gave an update on the progress of the feature film. He first revealed that he was now beginning to write it. The screenwriter, therefore, seems to be in time for the film to be shot in 2023, the date announced in October 2021. It remains to be seen what the feature film will tell. Without giving details on the subject, Knight gave some clues about its plot: “The story will continue in a different way, but the film will have the same tone as the series. »

Anyway, it will be necessary to be patient before being able to discover the film Peaky Blinders. This one isn’t expected to hit theaters until 2024. And so it will then be followed by spin-offs. On the other hand, Knight explained last October that he intended to pass on the baton for these other projects. Other creators should therefore bring their paw to the universe Peaky Blinders, after the release of the feature film.
