The first season finale of HBO Max’s “Peacemaker” topped the Trending TV chart for the week of February 14-20, wreaking havoc on TV interactions.
The finale, which aired on Thursday, saw nearly 700,000 interactions from fans on Twitter and brought the show to the fore. The series, which opened from the ninth place in the ranking last week in America, took first place at the point reached.
This reflects the final ratings, with the largest single-day performance ever for an HBO Max original series, according to HBO. The report also revealed that in terms of tweet interactions, the final episode increased 44% compared to the premiere. The acclaimed finale featured some surprise Justice League cameos, thus boosting interactions. Arrow star Stephen Amell was also involved in interactions on social media.
Amell responded on Twitter by targeting “Peacemaker” star John Cena and his wrestling background, noting Starz’s role as a wrestler on “Heels.” Others took to online and shared the good news to attend the celebratory announcement that Cena’s superhero show has been renewed for a second season on HBO Max.
Elsewhere on this week’s trending list, “Euphoria” regained the top spot at #2 after dropping to #7 last week following the Super Bowl and several TV show trailers and teasers tied to the big game. Fans spoke specifically about a story involving Maude Apatow’s character Lexi and her posh (and meta) high school game. Ozark was third and Succession was fourth in social media trends.
