28 years after “Pulp Fiction”, Bruce Willis and John Travolta reunite for the action film “Paradise City”. A feature film from the director of “The Mask”, in which the two actors are once again enemies.
Paradise City : one of the last films of Bruce Willis
Last March, the relatives of Bruce Willis announced actor’s retirement of Sixth Sense, crystal trap and The fifth Element. The 67-year-old actor suffers from aphasia, a condition caused by brain damage. This language disorder can be characterized in different ways, from difficulty finding words to total loss of language. Lately, the star’s health has worried his collaborators on the set of his feature films, most of which are intended for the video market. Several incidents have also failed to turn to tragedy.

If Bruce Willis has therefore chosen to leave the film sets, his fans will still be able to discover him in several films already finalized or in post-production, among which Paradise City. Directed by Chuck Russell, director of The Mask, The Eraser and The Scorpion King, this feature film marks his reunion with John Travolta. The latter had also paid tribute to his partner on Instagram last March, sharing a souvenir photo and writing:
Bruce and I became good friends when we shared two of our greatest hits, pulp Fiction and Hello mama, here baby. Years later, he once said to me, “John, I want you to know that when something good happens to you, it’s like it happened to me too.” That’s how generous a soul he is. I love you Bruce.
A new confrontation after pulp Fiction
A friendship that once again turns into a rivalry28 years after their first clash in pulp Fiction. If they only met twice in Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece, their confrontations went very badly. This should still be the case in Paradise City, given the trailer. In the film, Bruce Willis lends his features to Ian Swan, a bounty hunter presumed to have died in a shooting while on a mission in Hawaii.

Helped by his father’s former partner played by Stephen Dorff and by a local detective (Praya Lundberg), his son Ryan (Blake Jenner) investigates his death. They come face to face with a local godfather portrayed by John Travolta, whom Ian had been stalking for many years. They then flee to the island of Paradise City, where they come across an unexpected ally. A classic scenario for visibly lazy action scenes, in line with the recent projects of its two headliners.
In the USA, Paradise City will be released on November 11, 2022 in cinemas and on video on demand. In France, no date has yet been announced.
