In the chilling horror thriller “The Twin’ the loss of a child takes a couple to the most remote corners of the earth imaginable. Only to discover that there is no peace there either. Here comes the trailer:
At the heart of “The Twin’ says Rachel Doyle (Teresa Palmer). During a tragic accident, she and her husband Anthony (Steven Cree) lost one of their twin sons. In order to recover from the tragedy and somehow find their way back to regular life, the couple decides to leave New York. Together with their remaining offspring Elliot (Tristan Ruggeri) they move to a remote corner of Finland – the homeland of Anthony’s ancestors.
First of all, the quiet and the new surroundings, including the fascinating and unusual landscape, are really good for the small family. However, the locals are conspicuously dismissive of Rachel and Elliot. Only Helen (Barbara Marten), who comes from England, proves to be a friendly, if somewhat eccentric neighbor.
Then Rachel suddenly notices strange behavior from Elliot. So he keeps claiming to be his dead brother Nathan. The local doctor (Andres Dvinjaninov) cannot help. On the contrary, he claims that Rachel herself is the problem. Then Helen reveals to the concerned mother that the local population belongs to a pagan cult and that Elliot is intended to play the main role in one of their rituals…
