Actors Frank Grillo and Dolph Lundgren, stars of American action cinema, will meet in front of Steven Luke’s camera, for a project called “Operation Seawolf”.
On the one hand, there is Dolph Lundgren. Present in the cinema for thirty years, this Swedish actor quickly made a name thanks to his clash with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky iv in 1985. The character of Ivan Drago subsequently became cult, and is moreover returned three times, in Rocky v, in Rocky balboa and in Creed II. Then, Dolph Lundgren followed suit by appearing in Dangerously yours, in Masters of the Universe, then playing the Punisher for his first film adaptation in 1989.
Then, the actor specialized in action films, and more particularly in often unrecognized B series. But his recent participation in the franchise Expendables, and its appearance in Aquaman, gave it a little notoriety. Now 63 years old, Dolph Lundgren continues to shoot action movies at a breakneck pace.
On the other side, there is Frank Grillo. Expert in martial arts, Frank Grillo is also a specialist in American action cinema. He began his acting career in the early 1990s by making appearances in television series such as The Shield, New York Special Unit, The experts, Las Vegas, FBI Missing or Prison Break. Must wait the early 2010s to see Frank Grillo break into the big screen, appearing in larger productions like Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty or The Wolf Territory. But these are his stakes in the MCU as Crossbones, and in the saga American Nightmare, which give it more notoriety. Now 58 years old, it will be showing on June 30 of another action film: Hitman & Bodyguard 2.
So, Dolph Lundgren and Frank Grillo to Team Up for Action Movie Titled Operation Seawolf. Directed by Steven Luke, the film is set in the closing days of WWII when desperate Germany searches for any remaining opportunity to defeat the Allies. The Nazis then turned to their last U-Boots, armed submarines, to attack the United States from the water.
For the moment, we do not know more about the plot, or even the rest of the cast. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Operation Seawolf is expected in 2022 in cinemas, and will be produced by VMI Worldwide. In any case, it will be the perfect opportunity to see the confrontation between two emblematic figures of American action cinema. It will still hurt!
